The Client is  requires the services of  Senior Web Developer 3, hereafter referred to as Candidate(s), who meets the general qualifications of Senior Web Developer 3, Web Development and the specifications outlined in this document for the Client.

All work products resulting from the project shall be considered “works made for hire” and are the property of the Client and may include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their Candidates) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as authorized by Texas law. Client will pay no fees for interviews or discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Candidate(s).

The UX Designer will be responsible for creating a positive and productive end user experience for TEA applications and websites and for maintaining a user-centric focus throughout product development.

TEA is seeking a senior UX and Product Design lead to help create solutions that improve education technology integration and enable parents, teachers, schools, and district leaders to focus on what is most important — their students. The UX and Product Design Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the successful deployment of technology solutions by maintaining a strong user-centric focus and driving alignment with existing work in the field. They will work under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and use strong independent judgment. 

UX Designers at TEA are responsible for:

+ OverseeeingUX/UI designs to ensure design decisions are grounded in user experience and adhere to agency-wide design standards and industry-wide best practices

+ Translating research into user stories, requirements, flows, wireframes, and prototypes and collaborating on the future product roadmap

+ Employing user testing and outreach to ensure products meets the needs of the end users, in collaboration with partners

+ Partnering with the product team and other key stakeholders, including senior leadership, on design solutions and rationales; collaborating with internal and external teams of product designers, developers, and product managers

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8 years-Required-Experience in software product development, digital design, UX/UI or a related field
  • 8 years- Required-Designing mockups and/or wireframes that conform to UX best practices
  • 8 years-Required-A portfolio of user research, visual design, and usability studies that demonstrates a high level of professionalism
  • 8 years-Required-Experience conducting user and usability research
  • 5 years-Required-Demonstrated strong writing and organization skills
  • 5 years- Required-Demonstrated strong communication and facilitation skills
  • 4 years- Required-Direct experience leading large-scale UX/UI efforts
  • 4 years-Required-Documented experience developing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes in Figma or comparable design software
  • 3 years      Required-Experience ensuring designs and website confirm to federal accessibility guidelines
  • 3 years-Preferred-Documented work experience with the issue tracking software “Atlassian Jira”
  • 2 years      -Preferred-Documented experience working for or closely with TEA or another state or local education agency
